Malaysia Falun Gong Practitioner Passing Memorandum to China Embassy
to appeal for ending to the persecution of Falun Gong

On June 24, 2004 – Four Malaysian Falun Gong practitioners went to Malaysia China Embassy to pass a memorandum to appeal for ending to the persecution of Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners also requested meeting with the Ambassador of China, His Excellency, Mr. Wang Chun Gui, but however was rejected.

Four of Falun Gong representatives only allowed passing the memorandum through the window in front of the China Embassy and to have a press conference for about 10 minutes to explain the persecution condition of Falun Gong in China. This incident has attracted a lot of reporters present to make coverage and listed practitioners explain the persecution which happening in China. Falun Gong practitioners also specially make a lot of banner to expose the crucial persecution and to let the reporters well understand the truth of the persecution during coverage.

Falun Gong practitioners mentioned in the press conference that the main purpose of passing the memorandum is in hoping that China embassy in Malaysia can contribute towards a peaceful end to the brutal persecution of Falun Gong and an unconditional release of those Falun Gong practitioners of conscience for peace, dignity and better future of the Chinese civilization.

During this year February, news media spoke person of China embassy, Sun Xiang Yan, published an article at a local Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Jit Poh which in the article he has mentioned that Falun Gong is a cult and spread untruth principal and asked reader to keep away from Falun Gong. This article undoubtedly can make Malaysian misunderstand even hate Falun Gong. Therefore, in the memorandum, Falun Gong practitioners also appealed China ambassador to stop publishing reports and circulating articles that aim to defame the image of Falun Gong. Falun Gong, which expounds the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, requires practitioner think of about others before self and to be a good people in every situation. Where is the ‘cult’ factor? The freedom of rights to association, expression and belief is enshrined in the Malaysia Constitution. Therefore, Malaysian Falun Gong practitioners as citizens of Malaysia have the right to use it.

In the mean time, practitioner also hoped that China Ambassador will consider our appeal seriously and establish dialogues for us to have a chance to meet with people in the embassy to clarify the truth to them, stop assisting Jiang Zemin regime persecution action in oversea. This passing memorandum incident make Malaysia practitioners have more chance to clarify the truth to media, police and higher lever of government officers and at the same time to let them have a chance to know the wonderful of Falun Gong.
